Got this for my 10-year-old who usually groans at anything that looks like schoolwork, but the prompts are short enough that he actually fills a page without being nagged. The "thought of God" line on the cover opened a really sweet conversation between us.

The quote about being "a thought of God" stopped me cold — that's a heavy idea for a kids' journal, but it's handled gently, with short prompts a boy can actually answer without feeling preached at. We do one page together after dinner, and it's become the calmest ten minutes of our week.

My 9-year-old actually asks to do this journal before bed, which never happens with anything else. The pages leave room to write without feeling like a school worksheet, and the prompts get him talking about his day afterward.
